A few new treats for your latest retreat.
Camping is an opportunity to get creative, a practice in planning and resource utilization—especially when it comes to food. But that doesn’t mean you have to totally rough it. The campfire is your best friend and is so much more versatile for cooking than you’d think. Spice up those roasted weenies with something off our toppings bar or surprise your fellow campers with the glorious baked beans they’ve been smelling all day. No matter what direction you go, we’re here to help you make those special moments—and dishes—memorable.
Water Balloon
ice
Fill three dozen water balloons with water, secure with a knot, place in sealable plastic storage bags and freeze until solid. Place around drink bottles or cans to cool drinks. Use for your water balloon battle when they melt.
S’mores
Cone
Cut a 6″ × 6″ square from scrapbook paper. Roll opposite corners together to form a funnel shape. Make sure bottom gap is glued shut. Secure with paper glue or tape. Add Teddy Grahams, chocolate chips, M&M’s, and mini marshmallows. Note: chocolate chips may leave a stain if allowed to sit all day.
Road Map
Napkin Ring
Wrap silverware in bandanas for a campy look. Fasten with a band cut from a map and secure with tape.
