"Really? Me?" We hear this so often when we connect with the members of a new class of Wonder Women each summer. They’re shocked that someone sees their work and thinks it should be recognized. Because to them, they are just doing what needs to be done. Incredible feats that make the state a better place for us all is just another Tuesday.
In marking this 10th year of WV Living’s Wonder Women, we celebrate the barrier-breaking, obstacle-leaping, forward-thinking women who pave the way for true growth and change in West Virginia, women who get up each day with hope in their hearts and fire under their feet. From artists to medical professionals, activists to legislators, athletes to nonprofit leaders, they are the kinds of talented, hardworking, and innovative people that this publication has been proud to lift up and recognize over the past decade.
You’ll read stories of kindness, strength, and deeply rooted determination, tales of making home the best it can be, all told by women who inspire us each day.
