Technicians who deliver home health equipment, physical therapists who get patients back on their feet, pharmacists and nurses and doctors and all of the administrators who make their jobs possible—living through a pandemic has given the staff of WV Living a fresh appreciation for the many thousands of people across the state who dedicate their days to keeping all of us healthy.
Susan Haslebacher
Supervisor of School Health
Monongalia County Schools, Morgantown
“What doesn’t make Susan Haslebacher a hero?” quips Melanie Barry in her nomination of her longtime colleague. Haslebacher oversees a team of 16 school nurses, Barry explains, operating in 17 schools and providing care to more than 11,800 students and 2,300 employees. The vaccine clinics Haslebacher organizes for school staff have been characterized as “smoother than a Chick-fil-A drive-thru.” She also has a tremendous passion for school nursing and for fostering the growth, development, and educational achievement of all students.
