Technicians who deliver home health equipment, physical therapists who get patients back on their feet, pharmacists and nurses and doctors and all of the administrators who make their jobs possible—living through a pandemic has given the staff of WV Living a fresh appreciation for the many thousands of people across the state who dedicate their days to keeping all of us healthy.

Jerome Cline became a nurse later in life, and his experience in intensive care showed him that a nurse’s impact comes from more than clinical competence. “I have found it equally impactful for patients to feel that someone cares and takes the time to educate, explain, advocate, and, as one of my RN instructors would say, ‘just hold the bucket.’” In that, he’s found his place and purpose. Nominator Melissa Kennedy attributes her better health to his hard work and dedication.
