Technicians who deliver home health equipment, physical therapists who get patients back on their feet, pharmacists and nurses and doctors and all of the administrators who make their jobs possible—living through a pandemic has given the staff of WV Living a fresh appreciation for the many thousands of people across the state who dedicate their days to keeping all of us healthy.

Margaret Staggers has experienced more COVID-19 than most. Nominator Kay Bess says that, as a doctor in the ER, Staggers treated patients, contracted the virus, and chronicled her illness on social media to educate others and now spends her time off administering vaccines as a volunteer for the Beckley–Raleigh County Health Department. Staggers says helping people in pain and distress keeps her going and that she will continue to do so as long as she’s breathing.
