SUPERPOWER: Bringing people together

Owner and Vision and Strategy Director, Agency LMC
During her time at Marshall University, Lori Chenoweth studied marketing and advertising, and she found a particular interest in the psychology of buying behaviors. A post-graduation endeavor in Switzerland helping with the promotion of a hostel proved to Chenoweth that the marketing industry was the right fit for her. She had always had an interest in the field, and she knew she could make an impact in her home state of West Virginia.
After nearly a decade working in the industry, Chenoweth took a leap and established her own business, Agency LMC, in Elkins in 2014. Since then, her company has grown to 10 employees, serving clients throughout West Virginia and beyond. Agency LMC is a full-service agency, including advertising, marketing, public relations, social media management, and more.
“Being in West Virginia, we have a really good grasp on all the platforms to build your brand and to make an impact here,” Chenoweth says. “We’re building an agency and a business that’s built on specialized service, experience, and knowledge. People often talk about the challenges of building a business in West Virginia, but we’ve not only grown here—we’re just getting started.”
Chenoweth finds her passion in project management. She says she especially enjoys initiating a project and seeing it through to the end. She credits her team for the success of her agency, citing their creativity and collaboration as true assets for the company and its clients. “Collaboration, teamwork, and relationships—that human aspect is really what it’s all about.”
Chenoweth also serves as a board member with the West Virginia chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Her agency has won more than 30 Crystal Awards, which celebrate the campaign and tactics work of public relations practitioners. She says she hopes to continue to be a leader in the industry and to continue growing Agency LMC.
