Lewisburg
voted best inclusive community in west virginia in 2o21
In 2016, Lewisburg was among the first West Virginia cities to pass an ordinance banning discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. And in June this year, it passed a CROWN ordinance prohibiting discrimination based on hair style or texture. “People want to feel safe where they are,” said mayor Beverly White at a 2021 roundtable on nondiscrimination ordinances, urging more cities to adopt them. “Lewisburg is inclusive and we welcome you with open arms.” lewisburg-wv.com
