Technicians who deliver home health equipment, physical therapists who get patients back on their feet, pharmacists and nurses and doctors and all of the administrators who make their jobs possible—living through a pandemic has given the staff of WV Living a fresh appreciation for the many thousands of people across the state who dedicate their days to keeping all of us healthy.

Fairmont native Lisa Flower barely returned from her annual medical mission in Cuzco, Peru, when borders closed in March 2020. Raised in a family of health care professionals, she found becoming a doctor a natural choice. Flower loves helping people in the community she grew up in. “She also provides education to her community at large,” her friend Wendy Dillon wrote in her nomination, referencing Flower’s work sharing good science and steering people away from misinformation during the pandemic.
