Superpower: Turning change into opportunity

Advertising Manager, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races
Growing up as the daughter of a U.S. Army veteran meant Jassi Mason rarely stayed in one place for long. By kindergarten, she’d already attended three different schools, learning early how to connect with people from every walk of life.
Those lessons have shaped her 22-year career at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, where a high school job grew into a leadership role in advertising. “True leadership isn’t about titles,” Mason says. “It’s about serving others, mentoring the next generation, and leaving people better than I found them. You never know someone’s background until you take the time to get to know them, and that translates into how I lead.”
Along the way, she embraced opportunities that stretched her beyond her comfort zone, including helping launch table games in West Virginia and moving from event management into marketing after a mentor recognized her gift for building relationships.
Mason is equally passionate about investing in her communities—both inside and outside of work. Through PENN Entertainment, she helps lead the PENN Women program, which aims to empower and support women in their professional and personal development. She also serves on the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce board and helped improve accessibility at the Harpers Ferry Children’s Park, a project that was especially meaningful for her, as the mother of two young boys.
Her advice to young professionals is simple: “If it makes you uncomfortable, do it. If you feel like you need to take one step back to move a few steps forward, do it. The path is not always a straight line up.”
Inspired by hardworking parents and a family of strong women, Mason hopes her legacy will be measured by the people she helped along the way.
