He has since been honored with several awards, including the Appalachian Heritage Writer’s Award and an honorary Doctorate of Literature from Marshall University. His most recent memoir, Don’t Blow Yourself Up, hit shelves in October of this year, telling the story of the years that followed the era of the Rocket Boys.
