The snowy weekend ahead calls for cozying up with hot chocolate. So here are five great places to get hot chocolate in the Mountain State. Don’t forget to add some whipped cream for good measure.

At Farmhouse Cafe you’ll feel right at home. This intimate coffee shop just outside Morgantown has an espresso bar packed with handcrafted options such as hot chocolate, cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, and more. Be sure to grab a freshly baked pastry before you leave. Their giant cookies are to die for.

Get your hot cocoa fix at Stoked Coffee in Parkersburg. This hot chocolate is more chocolate than milk, and it’s 100 percent delicious. You can have rich chocolate topped with fluffy whipped cream, or add scrumptious flavors like vanilla, caramel, or hazelnut. Or enjoy a frozen hot chocolate—think steaming cup of cocoa meets chocolate milkshake.

Head to Tip Top, now in two great locations—Thomas and Elkins—for a mouthwatering cup of cocoa. This top-notch coffee shop offers delicious drinks, sweet treats, and a great selection of draft beer. You’ll find plenty of local treats and organic and gluten-free options, and don’t pass up the Nutter Butter Bars or the Blueberry Cream Cheese Croissant.

The Wild Bean in Lewisburg is another great place to indulge in a steaming hot cup of cocoa. Add whip or no whip and maybe a splash of peppermint flavoring for a delightful twist. And snag the PB and Banana Wrap before you go for all day energy.

Cocoa aficionados rejoice at Lost Dog Fine Arts Coffee & Tea in Shepherdstown. This unique spot offers great drinks, great people, and great service. Choose your cup of hot chocolate piled high with a healthy scoop of whipped cream and know that it pairs well with practically any of the delicious treats in the place.

And because we just can’t limit our favorite hot chocolate stops to five, try Joe N’ Throw in Fairmont or Mea Cuppa Coffeebar in Charleston for a great cup of cocoa. Enjoy!
