Emily Larkins
Director, Family Crisis Intervention Center of Parkersburg
Emily Larkins, director of the Family Crisis Intervention Center of Parkersburg, is a Washington, West Virginia, native who dedicates her time to serving her clients, giving back to her community, and spreading awareness about domestic violence.
The FCIC is a domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy agency and rape crisis center where Larkins has worked since college. “That’s where I really fell in love with this line of work,” she says. “As a woman, as a mother, as a daughter, I feel that it’s our role and my duty to give back to my community.” She enjoys educating and encouraging women and men to understand that they deserve to live safe, violence-free lives. Because domestic violence and sexual assault have no boundaries, she says, teaching these concepts is critical to changing lives.
Larkins is passionate about supporting organizations that make that change possible. She is a board member of the West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Foundation for Rape and Information Services. She also chairs the Family Protection Services Board. She’s determined to continue her work to ensure that victims and survivors have access to quality services in the Mountain State.
