When the pandemic hit, Donnie Grubb was reassigned to COVID-specific work. He was instrumental in establishing COVID-19 testing on the Berkeley Medical Center campus and partnering with local health departments; now he coordinates vaccine clinics. “Donnie has done an outstanding job with both of these projects,” says nominator Teresa McCabe. He says he loves seeing people vaccinated. “Tears of joy run down their faces because they know soon they will be able to be reunited with their loved ones, hug their grandchildren, children, friends.”
