2024 West Virginia Wonder Women
Each fall, WV Living brings readers a new class of Wonder Women to celebrate. With that new class come new lessons, new words of wisdom, and new inspiration to be shared. Having faith, living boldly, staying persistent, and keeping family close–these are just a few of the things you’ll learn in these pages from the very women who are changing West Virginia for the better.
The one lesson that appears most commonly this year? Fostering community. The 2024 class of Wonder Women are women of their communities, by their communities. They are shaped by where they came from, where they are now, and who they are in those places with. They shape their communities themselves, finding areas of need or lack and filling the gaps with hope and growth. And they create new communities made of people they inspire and those who inspire them.
As West Virignians, we know the importance of community, of a place to feel heard, seen, and supported. "It truly takes a village," one Wonder Woman reminds us–a village of dedicated, like-minded people who are driven by the goal of leaving West Virginia a better place. These women are that community–and we are honored to share their stories with you.
