Alderson’s has lived many lives in West Virginia. The store was established by the Alderson family in 1887 and was revitalized with a new building in the 1930s after the initial structure burned. It has continued to flourish under generations of the same family, maintaining its vintage Art Deco beauty well into the new millennium. A self-described “throwback” to old-fashioned department stores of ages past, Alderson’s is the perfect place to find jewelry, antiques, home decor, locally sourced items, and more.
