The WV Living Book Club opens up new and exciting discussions in 2026.

IN EARLY NOVEMBER, award-winning liar Bil Lepp joined WV Living magazine at The F.A.R.M. in Granville to discuss his novel Halfdollar. The last meeting of the year was full of laughter and heart—just like the book.
2026 brings an equally promising selection of books and conversations to the table. The first in the line-up—Hang the Moon by West Virginia native and New York Times bestselling author Jeannette Walls—takes readers back to Prohibition-era Virginia. Sallie Kincaid has returned home nearly a decade after an accident involving her stepbrother got her shipped off to her aunt’s house. She is soon twisted up in old family secrets and new scandals as she finds a place in the fast-paced world of bootlegging. Walls will join the meeting via Zoom on March 5, 2026, to discuss the book, answer reader questions, and share insights into her characters and writing process.
Expect to add even more top-notch reads to your list this year! The WV Living Book Club summer meeting focuses on the 2024 book West Virginians’ Experiences in Civil Rights: How We Have Been Connected All Along. Fall brings a haunting—and 2024 Pulitzer Prize–winning—tale from Jayne Anne Phillips: Night Watch. Ann Pancake rounds out the 2026 season with her beautiful 2007 novel Strange as This Weather Has Been. Register for meetings and order books at wvliving.com/bookclub.
