Join us in May for a conversation about the 2012 debut novel to Julia Keller’s eight-book Bell Elkins series.

IN MARCH, ROSALIE HAIZLETT BROUGHT HER COLORFUL APPALACHIAN CHARM to The F.A.R.M. in Granville for a riveting conversation about her latest book, Tiny Worlds of the Appalachian Mountains: An Artist’s Journey. With a refreshments menu inspired by Appalachian foods that may be foraged from our forests, Haizlett took questions from attendees—both in-person and virtual—and shed some light on the inspiration and creation of her artistic journey through the Appalachian Mountains.
WV Living Book Club is taking a mysterious turn for its next meeting. Up next on the “To Be Read” list is A Killing in the Hills, the first in the eight-book Bell Elkins series by West Virginia native Julia Keller. A former journalist—a Pulitzer Prize-winning one at that, Keller’s debut novel dives deep into the haunting story of a prosecutor seeking justice in a rural West Virginia town that’s determined to keep things close to its chest. Though the setting is a fictional one, there is something familiar and relatable about the story and its characters that will draw you in just as much as the mystery does.
The conversation begins at 6:30 p.m. on May 8, and guests are invited to join in-person at The F.A.R.M. in Granville or virtually via Zoom. Visit wvliving.com/bookclub for more information and to register.
Bookstores and libraries are invited to join the fun! To become a participating partner, register on our Book Club page.
