Take Mountain State Maple Days along in your pocket with the Maple Passport for Grant, Pendleton, Pocahontas, and Randolph counties.

When the nights are still cold here in West Virginia’s Allegheny Highlands but the days are warming, that can only mean one thing: It’s maple syrup season!
Every year since 2016, West Virginians have celebrated all things maple during Maple Month, from mid-February to late March, and especially on Mountain State Maple Days—February 21 and March 21 this year.
During Maple Days, you can tour a sugar camp and see how maple syrup is made, all the way from tree to bottle. You can taste maple syrup–inspired dishes at local restaurants and special events. And, of course, you can buy some authentic Mountain State maple syrup to pour over your pancakes at home.
Now, in a four-county area at the heart of maple country, Mountain State Maple Days is even sweeter. By using the app Driftscape, you can participate in all the fun of our maple syrup season and earn free prizes at the same time—three locations earns a free sticker and five gets you a Maple Days pin. Visit these participating locations in the Allegheny Highlands and collect points on the app to claim your rewards.

These are the locations participating in Mountain State Maple Days 2026 in Grant, Pendleton, Pocahontas, and Randolph counties—you can also see them in more detail in an interactive online map here.
Here’s how it works.
Just install the Driftscape app on your phone and search for Mountain State Maple Days. You’ll be able to click on each location to learn what’s happening there and get the address, driving directions if needed, and more.
Then, while you’re at a location, simply click “Collect Points.” You’ll earn 5 points per attraction you visit. 15 points get you a sticker, and 25 earns a pin. Once you’ve collected enough points, just click “Redeem Points” on the left menu, and you’ll receive instructions on how to receive your reward! Points are redeemable at our county visitor centers in Elkins, Franklin, Marlinton, and Petersburg.
One of the best features of Driftscape for our mountainous region is that it doesn’t matter if you have wi-fi or cell service or not—just download the app and, before your visit, use the SAVE FOR OFFLINE feature to load our map and all of the site information directly onto your phone. Alternatively, you can click “Collect Points” on the listing once you have wi-fi or cell service again.
While most sites are open specifically on February 21 and March 21 for Maple Days, you can collect points at some of the sites all month long. No purchase is necessary—but we encourage you to support our local businesses.
Plan your maple adventure, hit the road, and taste your way across the region!
