Join us in celebrating our 11th annual class of West Virginia Wonder Women.
We are proud to induct WV Living’s 2024 class of women who are living boldly, bringing solutions, and championing their families and communities. This year’s honorees prove once again that, everywhere you look in the Mountain State, women are building a better West Virginia.
Looking to the state’s future, we are also excited to launch WV Living’s Wonder Women Mentorship Network. In partnership with Libera and West Virginia Public Education Collaborative, we will train and connect our Wonder Women as mentors to middle school-aged girls to help address the alarming statistics showing that West Virginia girls are some of the most at-risk in the nation. In addition, we are partnering with WVPEC to involve our Wonder Women in the West Virginia K-12 Speakers Bureau.
Keynote Speaker
Kayla Young
A Charleston native and a member of the 2021 class of West Virginia Wonder Women, Kayla Young grew up in a family of coal miners and teachers, learning the value of a hard day’s work and the importance of education for all. She started the Eggs Will Roll food truck in 2018, a darling of community markets and festivals statewide until the pandemic. She also started Boss Babes WV to foster genuine personal and professional connections among women and to support women of all ages statewide in reaching their goals.
In 2021, Young was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates. In the 2023 and 2024 legislative sessions, she was one of just 13 women in the 100-seat body, where she champions small businesses, accessible child care, and paid leave, among other issues that support communities and families.
